7 things to do in the Lake District this Christmas

The Lake District is just as beautiful in winter as it is in summer, some may even argue more so. Perfect for a Christmas time visit, there’s nothing better than snow-topped fells and cosy fires to get you feeling festive! Here are our top events for the Christmas period.

Muncaster Castle – Festive on the Wild Side

Muncaster Castle is offering a joint package with Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway, where you and your group can have a full day of magical Christmas-themed activities. Take a guided tour of the yuletide castle and a walk around the festive gardens, enjoy a hearty lunch and a bird of prey display from the Hawk and Owl Centre. Then, you take a steam train to Dalegarth Station for mince pies and mulled wine.
